Quick installation steps for the 41.22 kill switch

Four steps, one afternoon

Pull the factory starter relay, plug the 41.22 module into the empty socket, mount your switch where only you can reach it, and arm it. The Wireless Remote is our Level 1 (easiest) install; the Wired Pushbutton is a patient afternoon with hand tools. Reverse it any time and you’re back to stock.

Is a kill switch the best anti-theft for a RAM 1500?

Can a thief with a cloned key fob still start my Ram?

Not while it’s armed. A cloned or reprogrammed fob will unlock the doors and power the dash, but the starter circuit stays open — the engine never cranks. The clone gets them into a truck that won’t move.

Does a kill switch stop a relay attack?

Yes, at the step that matters. A relay attack tricks the truck into thinking your fob is present — documented on keyless Rams like the TRX. With the 41.22 starter relay bypassed, push-to-start does nothing until you disarm it.

Does installing it void my Ram warranty?

It shouldn’t. Nothing is cut or spliced — the module drops into the existing relay socket, so there’s no permanent modification to point at. And if you ever need to, you can return the truck to full OEM stock in just a few minutes by swapping the factory relay back in.

How hard is it to install on a Ram 1500?

The Wireless Remote ($179) is our easiest install — Level 1 of 5: drop in the relay, connect +12V and ground at the battery. The Wired Pushbutton ($108) is Level 2–3 because you route the switch wire through the firewall. Both kill the same circuit.
